So many companies donate money to worthy causes, but we wanted something that gave back to the world as a whole. That’s why we picked OneTreePlanted.org as our philanthropic endeavor. Everyone benefits.

A core reason why we made this choice was their vision. They want to flip the script of “doom and gloom” often associated with environmental action, and wanted to offer positivity and hope.

We’re not ones who believe in doom and gloom either. While it often gets a reaction, it’s simply not the proper response – and there is a difference. Positivity and hope are what guides us to the solutions we are seeking. We also feel good about what’s possible rather than how powerless we are and what’s wrong.

Environmental action has gotten a bad rap. A bunch of crazies who sometimes say and do whatever it takes to get attention. Our statement regarding this partnership on our about page flips that script as well.

YES, WE’RE “HUGGERS”…

Shocker – right? Well, it’s true. It’s part of our “why” – which we’ll talk more about below. In a nutshell, we’re looking to make a positive change by doing our part to reframe Environmental Action. We’re doing a one-to-one here on Our Shared Earth, planting one tree for every one item sold through OneTreePlanted.org.

Buy 3 items – or even better 30! (Just sayin’.) – we match it with a new tree. Simply put, you can’t make a positive change with something new if you wrap your arms around activism that promotes fear and destruction.

We don’t just “talk the talk” – we “walk the walk” and neither should you. So what do you say? Wanna be a “Hugger” too?

After further research, this partnership became even more obvious.

One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to global reforestation. They plant trees to restore nature and biodiversity. They also raise awareness about the importance of trees, offer businesses like ours a simple sustainability solution, and motivate younger generations to do something positive for the environment.

We care deeply about the planet and creating a business that gives back to nature. That’s why we’re thrilled to share that we’re partnering with One Tree Planted / @onetreeplanted to plant a tree for every item sold. Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing, and create jobs for social impact.
